Next time you think of a young feminist, think of Malala Yousefzai, the young woman who was shot by the Pakistani Taliban for her promotion of education for women. The United Nations declared her birthday (July 12) as Malala Day. In an address to the United Nations on July 12, Malala reminded us all that "The power of the voice of women frightens them [the Taliban]." For the full text of her speech, click here

Malala spoke with elegance and confidence that complimented her passion. "One child," she tells us, "one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world."
